My only request for this adventure was to spend my birthday on a beach because I have a December birthday, so it’s always cold. On December 22nd, 2018 this goal was accomplished. We spent three days on the other side of the Bali island and in the midst of those days, I turned 14.
We started the day with a good old American breakfast. I got pancakes, fresh fruit, eggs, ham, and an iced green tea with no milk or sugar. The sad part about this was a few minutes later, we saw another menu, and it had smoothie bowls. Since it was my birthday, we got one along with all of the other breakfast food. I think I ate a little too much food that morning…oops, but it tasted good, so that’s great!
We then went to spend some time on the beach. My mom and dad had gotten a floaty for the water, which Brie spent the entire time on, so that’s pretty happy for her! Amanda and I attempted some body surfing, but that plan didn’t end up so well. There ended up not be like any waves when we wanted to body surf, but, of course, there were multiple waves when we stopped. (Great job Ocean) 🙂
Somehow my parents found time to get a few small cakes. Now, cakes, sounds good right? Well, they weren’t that good, and I’m pretty sure if you asked everyone in the family they’d say the same thing. The only part of the cake that tasted decent was the gummies on top, some jello type thing, and the whipped cream like frosting.
Later, that same day, mom put on a Barça futbal game, (her new favorite team), and then they left for the grocery store to pick up…I don’t even know what. One of those things they picked up, was yet another cake. Which, was pretty amazing. It was a cute, little bunny cake.
That night we ordered some Greek food because Mom and I had been craving some for the longest time. There ended up being no drivers available to deliver the food, so we went back to the beach so my dad and I could take one last jumping picture in Bali. After the picture dad and I jumped in the ocean for one last time.
When we got out, there was finally a delivery driver for the food. The driver was supposed to take 15ish minutes, but somehow he almost beat us back to the house. (Still don’t know how in the world that happened.) The food was definitely worth the long wait though. Everyone, but Brie, got a chicken pita with fries, and Brie got a chicken schnitzel, (with fries of course).
Let’s end this post with a thought, the birthday I spent in Bali is for sure one to go down in the books!
