We have been in Argentiere, France for about a week now, and it is AMAZING here! 11 years ago I turned one and went to a pizza place that is right by our apartment, and when I turn twelve on September 11 I will be able to go there again for my 12 birthday! We have seen so many things in our stay so far, and some of the things that we have seen include: the start of a race called the PTL, the start of a race called the UTMB, tried to climb up to see a glacier, and many more.
So there is a week in France called the UTMB week, and that is a week where there is a bunch of really big races that all of the elite runners run. We saw the start of two of the races, one called the PTL, which is the longest race held in that week. The PTL race is 300km long, and it takes up to seven days to run this race. The UTMB race is the largest race held in the week. This race is 172km long, and there were 2,561 people who ran this race. It was so cool to see these people run because last year we were watching the race on tv saying, “Wouldn’t it be so cool if we were there?”
The other thing we did was, we tried to hike up to a glacier called Glacier d’Argentiere. We got so close to the top, but we ended up having to come back down because it started raining. A part of the reason why we didn’t go all the way up was that we decided to take a less steep way up the mountain, and on the way up we found some wild blueberries. We sat there eating them for like thirty minutes! I have been having so much fun here in Argentiere, and I can’t wait to find out what we end up doing next! ヽ(⪰ᗜ⪯)ﾉ
You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy a plane ticket, and it’s kind of the same thing! ✈️🙃
