Life in Sant Pol de Mar

Posted on November 15, 2018November 15, 2018 by Ava

After a busy travel month in October, we settled down in Spain. Sant Pol de Mar is a small right on the coast. The beach is right outside the front door and down a few steps. It’s great! One particular person in the family (mom) has an obsession over sea glass. Sea glass is glass that has been in the ocean for 10ish years and has been fogged and smoothed out. None the least we all walking on the beach for hours on top of hours looking for the rare pieces.

If we’re not out walking on the beach, you can probably find us on our balcony or at the grocery store. Trips to the store in Colorado were usually limited to a couple of times a week, but here it seems someone makes a trip to the store once a day; which wouldn’t wouldn’t happen if we didn’t have to carry everything back home without a car. At almost all times of the day, the sun hits our balcony just enough to make it nice and warm outside. Rather perfect, I know.

My uncle and his girlfriend came to visit us for a couple of days, and we walked to the beach (how could we not) and spent a day in Barcelona. I went into Barcelona knowing one crucial thing…the paella was supposed to be amazing, so by all means, we went out to get some, and it did not disappoint. We got a ton of different kinds and split it between all of us. There was chicken, pork, shellfish, cod, and. My favorite was probably the cod or pork. (All were good though!)

Multiple days later we meandered our way to Calella, but as we were walking around the beach, we ran into a football game. (not American football) We naturally stayed and watched. The cheering up in the stands were kind of fun to watch. There was a large drum one guy was banging, and it seemed like these certain people had rehearsed chants and cheers, which they shouted now and then. As of right now, my mom wants to bring a drum to all of my volleyball tournaments. Don’t know if that is a good or bad thing? I guess we’ll find out though. Anyhow, the local team won!

Okay now for the ending. Now, this isn’t going to be anything new. I’m just going to end it like all my other posts. Life in Sant Pol de Mar, Spain doesn’t suck at all, not even a little bit. We’ll continue our stay here for another couple weeks before we head off to Singapore. See you next time! Oh and here’s a sunrise picture from our porch. Your welcome!
